as much as I find this novel so nerve-wracking and disturbing, I still think that it gives me a feeling of literary satisfaction and makes me settled. It's not everyday that you come across a writer who is aware of human's psyche this much. Doaa amazingly creates moments of conflict and moments of reconciliation as well with the darkness lurking within us humans. The writing is very bold and daring. It doesn't show the slightest concern to the societal restrains or the literary embellishments that would grant the readers a moment of truce. In this novel, you not likely to be spoon-fed the points the author's trying to shed light on. unlike the too-in-your-face kind of novels prevailing nowadays, we get to see the subtlest points and ideas revealing themselves craftily, reassured by the fact that they are too humanistic and real to not be understood. It indeed has an insightful perspective.. not because it sails into uncharted waters, but basically because it revisits existent and known spots in our nature as humans, and challenges us to see them as they truly are.
