You know when someone tries to remember a definite period of his past , the memories come dyed with the present . when you are adult & try to get back into memory to the childhood and write down your memories back then , you write them from the mature point of view.
That's not what happened with this book . I felt as if a child is writing not an adult writing his memoirs . I could see war with all of its damage & losses in the eyes of a 12-year-old little boy .
Maybe the book is not discussing political solutions for the problem of child soldiers and maybe it's not literary perfect but it managed to shed light on the suffering of those non-guilty victims of war .
